THE STORY

Wildness in the streets has been part of the car culture for decades now, and while we do not condone mayhem on the highways, the adage “run whatcha brung and bring all you have” was never truer than with the special 2018 Dodge SRT Demon. Based on the now-retired Challenger body styling, this is denoted Demon no. 2190 on the serialized dash plaque, featuring an odometer reading of a mere 48 miles since delivery and complete with the optional Demon Crate, full optional interior and excellent choices otherwise.

As most know, the release came only for a single model season in this format, with 3,300 produced and almost immediately sold out back in 2018. The highlight is the car’s over-the-top 840 HP version of the modern HEMI engine. A Supercharged 6.2L V-8 design, this model was truly born to run, as the factory did what was needed to allow it to run a quarter-mile in under 10 seconds—stock. This was thanks to its SRT Power Chiller, After-run Cooler, Line lock and Drag Mode controls fitted to its Active Damping Suspension. Here, the car features the 8-speed automatic transmission with transbrake, and Demons came with 4–piston lightweight brakes.

The body wears Destroyer Gray with black satin graphics, Air Grabber hood, illuminated Air Catcher headlamps and Widebody fender flares. Equipped with Customer Preferred Package 26M, inside is the Black Laguna leather and suede interior, with the rear seat option, trunk carpet kit, 6-way power driver’s seat with power lumbar, heated and ventilated front seats, Power tilt and telescopic steering column with Wildwheel Alcantara steering wheel, and pedal brightwork. Driving assistance is courtesy of a Uconnect 8.4-inch display with navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, the ParkView rearview camera, daytime running lights, power mirrors, and a Harman Kardon 18-speaker audio system with subwoofer and amplifier. The carbon fiber Certicard and owner’s manuals are here, with 18×11-inch Hole Shot aluminum wheels keeping it on the ground for any and all wild, or calm, driving.
