THE STORY

To celebrate the end of an era, Lamborghini produced 250 Aventador LP 780-4 Ultimae Roadsters, but only two were painted in a Miura-style two-tone paint scheme. This is one of those two, finished in Verde Metallic with Oro Elios. The two-tone treatment was a $30,000 upgrade, is complemented by Gloss Bronze wheels and is protected by a $6,000, full-car Xpel paint protection film. With 200 miles showing on the odometer, the open-top Lamborghini presents in impressive condition.

Its 6.5L/769 HP V-12 engine is teamed with a 7-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters and settled in an engine bay of stunning carbon fiber, a material used throughout the car including for the removable roof panels, the X-frame, C-pillar, door panels and various exterior details. The black interior is comprised of leather and Alcantara surfaces with gold accents and green stitching, and it further features a tilt and telescoping steering wheel and an AM/FM stereo with Apple CarPlay. Xenon HID headlights illuminate the road when darkness falls, and the car is accompanied by owner’s manuals, books, a spare key fob and valet key, the factory tool kit with an air pump, a car cover and a trickle charger.

Lamborghini introduced the Aventador at the Geneva Motor Show on February 28, 2011, with the new supercar taking the baton from the Murcielago. It was the second-best selling Lamborghini model at the time, and 5,000 Aventadors had been sold by March 2016, marking it as an exceptionally successful model. The Ultimae was quite literally meant to be the ultimate expression of the Aventador. In all, just 350 Aventadors would be Ultimaes: 100 coupes and 250 roadsters. The initial reason for the celebratory model was that it would likely be the last time the company would build a car in such a fashion, relying on a V12 engine placed amidships without turbos or hybridization, architecture the company first embraced with the Miura in 1966. In a way, this Ultimae honors that with its two-tone paint harkening back to colors worn by some Miuras.
